Kruger National Park

All of our trips will be throughout the southern region of the expansive Kruger National Park in South Africa. Spread over an area of nearly 8,000 sq/miles (and growing every year), "The Kruger" is the most expansive safari area on the continent.  A well-organized and comprehensive park, it is considered by many to be the jewel of Africa. With more large mammal species than any other African preserve (147), 500 species of birds and stunning scenery, it is an ideal location for a first time African traveler, or the more experienced safari go'er.

Comfortable accommodations are provided for all of our guests. Upon arrival, our first 2 nights will be spent in Seringa Lodge in White River. An expansive, plantation-style homestead, situated right outside Kruger Park. The remainder of our time will be spent within the boundaries of the park where bungalows will be reserved for our clients. All bungalows are well appointed with quality bedding, air-conditioning, full bathrooms, refrigerators, safes for valuables and comfortable, shaded porch areas.

Two safari vehicles, with guides, will be provided throughout our entire excursion.

Each has a capacity of 9 passengers. However, in the interest of space and comfort,  we only board 6 guests per vehicle.  The vehicles have canvas roof coverings to shield the sun, but are open on all sides allowing unobstructed views of wildlife and the pristine natural environment. For the more intrepid travelers, private car rentals can be organized which will allow you to explore the park on your own.

Camps

For most of our trip, we will be staying in bungalows in the one of four "camps" situated in the southern part of the Kruger Park. They are referred to as camps, but they are actually well-appointed tourist villages that provide a variety of amenities. All have different accommodations that range from rustic to extravagant, multiple restaurants, park ranger stations, coffee shops, information/reception desks, full housekeeping, banks/ATM, a post office, internet access, laundry services and convenience stores stocked with anything you may need on your trip

(food stuffs, cold drinks, alcohol, clothing, memory cards, batteries, phone chargers/cords, ice, sunblock, souvenirs, binoculars, books, etc)

Based on availability, we will be utilizing Satara, Lower Sabie, Skukuza and Crocodile Bridge camps.

Walks and Drives

All groups and guests are subject to rigid gate opening and closing times to the camps. Generally, the gates open 30 minutes AFTER SUNRISE, then close 30 minutes BEFORE SUNSET; throughout the day we are free to come and go as we wish. Outside of these times, each of the camps provide a variety of extracurricular walks and drives that give guests unique animal sightings and experiences. Sunrise Drives (4:00 AM to 7:30 AM) can leave the camps earlier than the gate opening times, and Sunset Drives (4:30 to 7:00 PM) can stay out later than gate closing times.   Night Drives (9:00 to 11:00 PM) have recently been scheduled in the last few years.  Each give a great opportunity to see elusive, nocturnal animals, large cat activity, as well as beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Also available are a number of walks in the bush where guests will be accompanied by two guards.

It is recommended that guests go on at least one drive during their trip.
